I recently had the pleasure of seeing In the Heights at the Everett Performing Arts Center, produced by Village Theater. With music and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda, In the Heights is set in the Washington Heights neighborhood of Manhattan. Described as "a hip-hop musical with a salsa beat," In the Heights depicts a lively, tightknit Dominican-American community. In the Heights won a Tony Award for Best Musical in 2008.

ResponderBorrarI wish I was able to watch this musical back when the show was still touring. I really enjoy watching musicals because it has the right amount of drama, comedy, singing, and fun; it's exhilarating to watch. This particular musical reminds me of Hamilton because of the cast; there is a great amount of people of color. It's very nice to see.
